Beer Bread

Experimenting
Flour, Baking Powder,  Beer
Yummy sandwiches

Wish I had found this sooner!

When we sailed around the world I made yeast bread in every ocean.  The rising, kneading,  baking and time involved all added up.

This summer sailing in Alaska I discovered my yeast was out of date. Reminder- check dates before setting sail!

This however turned out to be a great reason to experiment. This new discovery had the full crew pretty happen after weeks with no bread for sandwiches.

My adaptation- Katlian Bay Bread.
4 cups flour
2Tablespoons Baking Powder
2 teaspoons salt
3 packages Splenda, or sweetener of choice
1 can plus 4 oz of beer, I use O'Douls
Mix all dry ingredients well, add beer mixing so all dry ingredients are well wet.
Bake in large bread pan being sure to spread mixture evenly.
****In my oven, bake 40 minutes turning pan every 10 minutes, after 20 minutes  move pan to opposite side of oven.

This makes a heavy bread with a great taste.  I'm very pleased with the results and only wish I had made this bread in each ocean around the world.
Enjoy!
